LSD?
Last night I had a mildly bizzarre dream.
Follow up:
You know how it is with dreams. The only parts you remember are those which were creeping into your conscious mind from your unconscious during the transition to waking state. And naturally that kind of process leads to some fairly abstact and outlandish shenanigans going down.
This morning the bit that I got left with was that I was standing in a corridor with bannisters running allong the walls (much like a hospital) and tying a completely metal gurney onto one of the bannisters using some strips of white cloth, I'd already done a few others further allong. I was doing this for decoration purposes. The gurney was enclosed underneath like a cabinet or similar all metal storage. See? I told you it was a little on the odd side.
Now when I said hospital corridor, that's what it looked like, but instead of going between wards/room it was on an incline and led down to the playing area in some kind of massive stadium. The stadium was completely enclosed and poorly lit (could have been underground?) and seated thousands and thousands of people, but the 'field' was submerged in a metre or so of water. Also there were great big thick concrete pillars randomly coming out of the field all the way up to the ceiling. Uhuh, abstract, but it gets worse.
On this field/water thing there were people competing in some kind of professional sport. But they were driving swampboats (flat bottoms, big fan at the back) and shooting paintballs at each other. Everyone seemed to take it rather seriously and apparently I was as well (why else would I be tying a bloody metal bed to a corridor wall?).

I'd like to point out that I don't make a habit of going to weird underground sporting rituals and decorating the place with macabre hospital parephenalia; but I highly reccommend that if you have even a shard of respect left, you stop reading now. You might regret it later.
The other snippit of dream I got involved a girl I went through school with. We'd met in pre-school (I guess it's the same as prep in the eastern states) in the Northern Territory and went right through primary school as great friends and then even ended up going to the same high school. Right up to grade 10, at which point my father got a job in Victoria and we moved south. We were fairly close.
In my dream last night I was doing... something, don't ask me what exactly because it was really odd and I can't fully remember it. But I think I was at a Uni, again I don't know which one; might have been Barton College at Deakin in Waurn Ponds (but the architecture was different as were all the people).
Long story short I ended up standing outside next to a very swish hall of some type and exiting was this girl. She was happy and smiling and laughing and she was on the arm of some random guy. She looked great.
The next moment I noticed two things, one; there were tears, she was crying but I think it was with joy. And two; There were other people around which were wearing suits and dresses that were identical to what the couple were wearing and they were clapping. I think there was confetti. Yeah, you guessed it.
She got married.
Now this was a damn vivid image. I googled her name this morning but got very little, just some old high school era sites and a couple of entries with her name at ANU. If only more people had online space. But maybe it was a premonition eh? Maybe I'm psychic and picked up on some etheral ties established through over a decade of being friends. Or maybe not. Maybe it was just a bloody dream. A dream that made me think I must have taken some hallucinogens before I hit went to bed the night before.
Not that I do that. Just say no kids, and stay in school.
But I'll blog it. This kinda stuff is interesting.
