Shiny new things.

September 6th, 2005

Well the month and the season changed this week (or was it last week i'm not quite sure) which means 1 important thing! New month of anime... hell yes!

Rolled into JB on Saturday after TAFE to see if they had the stellvia collector’s box set lying around, to my dismay but not surprise they didn’t. Not to worry I had a backup plan, Electronic Boutique. Trust the gaming guys to actually have the goods instead of the DVD store, but anyway more on that in a minute.

Before I left I spied something every avid anime fan should have in their collection, The Castle of Cagliostro. You cannot call yourself a fan unless you have seen this, own it (preferably both) or have no eye sockets. Despairing as it were that I did not infact own my own copy I whisked it off its shelf spot and into my cradling arms. $27 AUS dollars well spent, I'll write a review for it later that does it justice.

Happy in my purchase I trundled off towards EB. Sure enough as I have already stated they had the coveted box in their possession. Now Stellvia for those who don’t know is a futuristic space based story about an earth that is recovering and defending itself against the supernova blast of a nearby star. The anime itself is well done for a dub. The voices while different for each of the characters (some more than others) do still fit the persona's they’re attributed to. They haven’t bastardized the names of any of the characters either, which in my books is a huge bonus.

Its animated by Gonzo who you should know do a godly job (The main reason I purchase 99% of their anime), Its not apple seed quality but this is a TV series not a full motion movie. Anyhow $40 AUS that I don’t regret spending, if your interested in SI FI and school based anime's this one is for you, although I should warn you its a little sugar coated at times and the main character gets whiney periodically. Though truthfully this is an anime where the supporting characters steal the show and take it from possibly mediocre, to an enjoyable and entertaining watch.

Now with that said, its time to go study more ~_~.

ML XI... Insider Admin.

August 11th, 2005

Sorry for the late posting (x.x)

Holy crap it was tiring but everyone on the team had a great time. There wernt many gripes from behind the desk this time as we all got some good solid gaming time in.

Due to it not being on a school holiday we sufferd an attendance loss, we tried for the holidays but the arena was booked up. Next ML will be on the start of the school holidays so i expect everyone to attend!

Setup was harsh as usual on my geek hands but satisfying in the end as everything comes together and people start gaming on a great issueless network. We feel we have everything down pat now except for the ever problematic smacktard, which wont succomb to reason no matter how much we bigfix it. Lupin an I test the buzzers and the system before smacktard and it works 100%, in the end i must blame all the gamers in the stands for blocking the positive chi from the north.

The gaming was great, i totally enjoyed owning it up in multiple games of savage and having a nice chance to retro game in starcraft. Regrettably in one of the late night games of savage my primary HDD gave (ironically it works atm as a secondary HDD for some reason) way and i was forced to spend the rest of the LAN after 3am getting a stable system again.

All in all a good lan gaming wise and im looking forward to the september ML XII, see you all there!

So yeah, dinner was good.

June 5th, 2005

Roast beef for dinner was the most exciting part of my day. WoE in RO sucked as we had some internal drama and shit went down, we lost our castle... and yeah shit happens.

So yeah, my current job is at the Melton Shire Council (IT type dude) doing contract work for them, because their to busy to do it themselves. This week might be the last week of having a stable income for a while unless they give me another task, im almost out of things to do. I hope they got the gay HP guys to come fix the 2 broken PC's i pulled outa the latest order last week, otherwise ill have even less to do.
