1 Day to go
My GOD... what a hetic few weeks. With work being flat out crazy i have had to try and orgainse myself for this trip in a daze after work most nights. But i did get a few good tips from some travel savy friends and i wholly recommend this tidbit i was given,
"throw everything you want to pack on the floor a week before you leave and as you remember other stuff you want to take throw it on the pile"
So i have worked out all the stuff i need to take and have gotten all the other stuff i needed to buy, like a backpack. All that is left to do now is panic sit back, relax and make everyone at work jealous.
One of the other things i've been doing for the trip is a little bit of research on what to do with my Tokyo stop over. I did find two great websites detailing what you can and can't do with a stopover in Tokyo. They list it by the number of hours you have and then list what's good to go see & do in such a short amount of time. They even detail how to speed up your entry/exit of the airport with tips like this,
Upon arrival, everyone jams the first security checkpoint they see, leading to long waits. If you just keep walking, there are several other security checkpoints, and unless you are exceptionally unlucky, most of the others will have no lines.
The sites are:
- Dick Karp’s Guide to the Most Asked Questions about Tokyo and Japan for which answers aren’t found in guidebooks
- Mike Newman's Narita Layover Page
So after all that i have decided I'll try and get out to see the famous Asakusa Temple not only because its open 24hrs (well the grounds are anyway) its also very "Japanese". I don't really want to cruse into Tokyo only to see macca's, big cube shaped apple stores (though that would be cool) and other stuff i could see here.
Only one day of panic gloating left ![]()
